30 Hour Turiya Yoga Nidra Teacher Training/immersion

Turiya Yoga Nidra Teacher Training/Immersion

The spirit of man has two dwellings: this world and the world beyond. There is also a third dwelling place: the land of sleep and dreams. Resting in this borderland, the spirit of man can behold his dwelling in this world and in the other world afar; and wandering in this borderland, he beholds behind him the sorrows of this world, and in front of him he sees the joys of the beyond.

About Yoga Nidra

Yoga nidra is a powerful and profound technique that systematically induces complete physical, mental and emotional relaxation with inner awareness. This practice finds its roots in Tantra - where the evolution of mind is an organic process, rather than an overlay of rules.

A defining element of yoga nidra is a detailed scan of the body led by the teacher whilst the practitioner rests, usually in savasana. This is a kind of somatic ignition, a body blessing. It grows out of the tantric practice of nyasa, which means “to place” or “to focus on,” that instills the physical body with a higher awareness that acknowledges the divine aspect in all of us.

Other parts of typical 30-minute session may include setting an intention, focused breathing, cultivating equanimity and visualisaton. A dialogue occurs between the conscious and subconscious minds, facilitated by the teacher’s voice. These components work together to create a lucid dream state between waking and dreaming, where the subconscious mind can be accessed and observed resolved with the conscious mind, and conflicts resolved as a result.

Although grounded in yoga philosophy and traditions, craniosacral therapy approaches to healing and scientific investigations into the nervous and cardiovascular systems support the experience of yoga nidra to fundamentally reprogramme the mind, and effect positive change in one’s life.

In this 30-hour training you will learn:

  • The components of yoga nidra

  • How to teach yoga nidra safely and skillfully, and in line with the larger traditions and concepts of yoga and tantra

  • Principles of healing aspects of craniosacral therapy and HeartMath that are expressed in yoga nidra.
